Dr. Usha Mohandas is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine with over 28 years of experience specializing in Internal Medicine. Dr. Mohandas earned her Medical degree from Calicut Medical College in India and completed her residency at the Interfaith Medical Center in New York. She is also Board Certified in Hospice and Palliative Care Medicine and is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians. After completing the residency she worked in Pennsylvania for over a decade where she held several positions including Chief of Staff, Chief of Medicine, Chairperson of Ethics and peer review committee. She was also involved in teaching and supervising Medical students and was the Hospice Medical Director She has been recognized with above 4.5 Star ratings by the majority of health insurance plans. Dr. Mohandas speaks English and Malayalam. Dr. Mohandas firmly believes in the comprehensive senior-centered healthcare model at CenterWell and how it positively impacts and benefits the lives of senior patients by providing them with the healthcare support they are seeking to improve their physical, emotional, social, and spiritual wellbeing. Dr. Mohandas greatly values the opportunity of taking a dual role at CenterWell, as both a staff physician and the Area Medical Director. In both roles, she places a genuine commitment in each patient’s well-being and emphasizes the importance of listening to their needs and concerns, this helps her better address all their individual factors when she develops their personalized care plan. Spending time with each patient, also allows her to develop a strong patient-physician relationship founded on trust and confidence, where the patients truly believe in Dr. Mohandas’ ability to care and support them on their health journey. When she’s not at the office, Dr. Mohandas enjoys spending quality time with her family, taking care of her Palliative Care Patients, gardening and practicing yoga.
