Deanna Koenen, APRN-BC

Deanna Koenen is a board-certified Adult Nurse Practitioner who recently joined our center in Leesburg, FL. She has been working in healthcare for 30 years, the last eight of which were spent at Mid Florida Primary Care treating a patient population over 60 in the capacity of an APRN. She reveals that she is familiar with multiple managed care plans and quality improvement plans, and is comfortable with multitasking and managing a complex patient load, including acute and chronic health issues. Deanna has her Master’s in Nursing as well as a post-master’s Adult Nurse Practitioner certification from the University of Phoenix and Florida Southern College, respectively.

She confides that it was her “strong desire to help people and the endless opportunity for growth in multiple directions,” which attracted her to a career in healthcare. “I am a very good communicator and find it easy to relate to people,”  Deanna adds. She also believes in providing quality care and taking the time to listen and understand her patients’ questions and concerns to ensure their satisfaction. 

The best part of her job, according to Deanna, is seeing positive health outcomes in her patients. She applauds CenterWell for fostering “an environment they feel comfortable in and creating a setting in which patient's feel they are heard and truly cared for” – which aligns perfectly with her own approach to healthcare. 

In her downtime, Deanna enjoys spending time with family, reading, and exploring art and history.
