Nancy has had an interest in science and healthcare since her teenage years, when she became a pharmacy tech and Certified Nurse’s Aide. She went on to get her Bachelor’s in Nursing at Fitchburg State University in 1997 and her Master’s in Nursing at Rivier University in 1999, graduating with honors at both institutions. She is board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner. Throughout her 20-year career in healthcare, Nancy has provided emergency and primary care at various hospitals, practices and clinical settings throughout the New England area, where she lived before moving to South Carolina in 2019. More recently, and prior to joining our center in Powdersville, she worked as a Family Nurse Practitioner at Doctor’s Care. According to Nancy, being a Nurse Practitioner allows her to spend more time with patients, get to know them individually, and be more involved in their direct healthcare and needs. She believes in working with patients to meet them where they are, and uses her listening, communication and follow-thru skills for better patient satisfaction and outcomes. Nancy has cared for people of all ages, but says that in the home health, family practice and focused care models, most of her patients have been seniors. In terms of her philosophy of care, Nancy believes in listening, being compassionate and helping people where they are with their healthcare goals. Her personal motto is: “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.” Nancy is married, has two daughters and three grandchildren. She says she moved from New England to be closer to her family — especially her grandchildren — who are always guaranteed to make her smile. In her free time, she enjoys hiking in South Carolina’s state parks as well as gardening.
