Lynda M McKinnon, MD

Dr. Lynda McKinnon is a board-certified family medicine specialist and a Fellow of the Canadian College of Family Medicine. Dr. McKinnon completed her family practice residency in Ottawa, Canada, after earning her medical degree from McGill University Medical School in Montreal. Dr. McKinnon chose medicine because of her commitment and passion for helping others, and she has worked with older adults throughout her career. She admits that the best part of her job is getting to know her patients and their families. Her formula for patient satisfaction involves taking the time to get to know her patients, listening carefully, and communicating clearly. Dr. McKinnon encourages patients to take an active role in their health, and she sees the ideal doctor-patient relationship as a partnership. She believes that comprehensive medical care must include a patient's physical and emotional well-being, and building the right patient relationship begins with kindness. A vegetarian for 40 years, Dr. McKinnon is very active and enjoys all forms of exercise. She loves spending time with her family and two wonderful daughters and enjoys traveling and the theater, especially Broadway musicals.
