Kathy L. Derrick, DNP, ADM-BC, FNP-BC, joined CenterWell as a board-certified family nurse practitioner and Doctor of Nursing Practice. She earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice from Northern Kentucky University, a Master of Science, Family Nurse Practitioner from Illinois State University-Mennonite College of Nursing, and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, magna cum laude, from Millikin University. She received an Associate Degree from Bakersfield College of Nursing and an Outstanding Student Award in the Allied Health Department. Before joining CenterWell in 2023, Ms. Derrick served as an APRN at Carle Foundation Hospital in Family Practice Clinic and as a nurse practitioner at The University of Illinois, McKinley Health Center. She worked as a nurse practitioner with All-Star Recruiting Locum Tenens at St. Margarets Midtown Health Center and practiced at Decatur Memorial Hospital Medical Group Rocksprings Family Medicine. Working with seniors, states Ms. Derrick, its essential to take the time to listen to what they have to say and their goals. Ms. Derrick chose healthcare to make a difference in peoples lives by helping them prioritize their health. Enjoying the relationship and partnership with her senior patients has taught her to be open to learning from their experiences and sharing how to keep them healthy. In her free time, she likes to spend time with family, the outdoors and cooking.
