Dr. Karen Millender is a board-certified family medicine specialist. Dr. Millender completed her residency in family medicine at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, Mississippi. She earned her medical degree from Tulane University School of Medicine in New Orleans, Louisiana. Post-residency, Dr. Millender began working at Mobile County Health Department in Mobile, Alabama, spent six years in the internal medicine department of the Franklin Primary Health Center, and was assistant medical director of Wiregrass Hospice, also in Mobile. After moving to Texas, she treated homebound patients for the Visiting Physicians Association, among other locum tenens assignments. She practiced outpatient family medicine at Baylor St. Luke's Medical Group in Lake Jackson, Texas. While there, Dr. Millender received three Right Care awards based on peer recommendations. Dr. Millender strives to ensure patient satisfaction by listening to her patients and making sure she has addressed their concerns. She says the best part about her profession is interacting with her patients and helping to improve their overall quality of life. In her free time, she enjoys reading.
