Dr. Esther Rivera chose a career in healthcare for the opportunity to provide service to others, and has now been practicing medicine for the last 14 years. Her work with seniors, however, began long before medical school, when as part of a volunteer group she visited nursing homes. Dr. Rivera says that it eventually led her to a Fellowship in Geriatric Medicine when she became a provider of healthcare and palliative care.
Dr. Rivera graduated from Universidad Central del Caribe School of Medicine and completed a Family Medicine residency at University of Puerto Rico Medical Sciences Campus. She is Board certified and brings her two specialties, Family and Geriatric Medicine, to the CenterWell team in Jacinto City, TX. She also speaks fluent Spanish as well as English.
Prior to joining CenterWell, Dr. Rivera was a Primary Care and diabetes care provider at NCT Community Healthcare Center for almost three years, at Indian Health Services and Veterans Affairs for a year-and-a-half, and at various clinics and community health centers throughout Texas and Puerto Rico for more than eight years
