It was a passion for helping others that drew Christina Crenshaw to the healthcare field. A board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner, she recently joined our center in Port Arthur, Texas. Christina’s career path took her from Radiologic Technologist to Registered Nurse to Family Nurse Practitioner at Folsom Medical Group, where her primary focus was senior care. She is also an alum of Lamar University, The University of Texas at Arlington, and The University of Texas Medical Branch Galveston. For Christina, the best part about being a Family Nurse Practitioner is educating people about their health and making joint decisions on the plan of their care. She is also passionate about helping people live the best and healthiest life they can. Christina says she ensures patient satisfaction by involving patients in the decision-making regarding their care and making sure they have understood everything she has discussed with them. The right patient-provider relationship, according to her, is one of trust, communication and openness. She believes in not only treating their physical issues but also focusing on their mental and emotional health. When she is not seeing patients, Christina enjoys traveling, working out, entertaining, and spending time with her family – and they mean everything to her. “I have a loving husband, two remarkable sons, amazing parents, and a giant extended family who have always encouraged me to follow my dreams and remind me that I make a difference,” she says.
