He’s worked with seniors in every aspect of their health, including hospice and palliative care. Before joining CenterWell, Dr. Walker was at Duke University Health Systems for four years and, prior to that, the Carolinas Healthcare System for eight. He describes himself as a results-oriented health care leader and collaborative problem solver. “Placing the patient first and center” he says, is the driving force of what he does. He applauds CenterWell’s team approach to making sure seniors have the best opportunity to live happy and healthy lives.
Dr. Walker thrives on getting to know and learn about his patients, their families, and seeing their mutually agreed-upon care plans come together. “I want to be sure that before patients leave the office, they feel they’ve been truly listened to and have had the chance to ask any questions. The patient and I are partners in their care and they should always feel that they are in control,” he adds.
Dr. Walker is a proud father of twin teenagers and when he is not caring for patients, enjoys spending time with this family.
