Dr. Anitha Mullangi has joined CenterWell as a board-certified family physician and as Chief Medical Officer for Nashville, TN market. Dr. Mullangi earned her medical degree from Siddhartha Medical College in India. She completed her family medicine residency at Bronx-Lebanon Hospital Center, New York. She holds a Master's in Healthcare Management from Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health and is a certified physician executive.
Before joining CenterWell in 2023, Dr. Mullangi founded and served as CEO of Alma Health. She also held the position of Chief Medical Officer with multiple California-based primary care health systems, including St. John's Community Health, QueensCare Health Center, Tiburcio Vasquez Health Center, and Community Health Systems. Her devotion to serving vulnerable seniors, solving the challenges faced by older adults, and caring for people regardless of age or circumstances align with CenterWell’s patient-centered values.
Dr. Mullangi followed her father into medicine. She shared, "His commitment to his work and purpose were ever-inspiring to me. He was even recognized as a humanitarian by Mother Teresa. I wanted to be part of a profession that could kindle such passion." During her free time, she loves being with her family, watching movies or going on walks with her husband, and trying new healthy vegetarian recipes.
