According to Dr. Saunders, the reason he got into the healthcare field was to promote healthy living and make a difference in people’s lives. “My training in Internal Medicine has prepared me to diagnose and treat adults and seniors with a variety of acute and chronic medical conditions,” he adds.
Dr. Saunders is a recent hire at our Maryvale, AZ center, has a B.S. in Chemistry from Northern Arizona University, and an M.D. from the University of Hawaii John A. Burns School of Medicine. In 2019, he successfully completed a three-year residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Arizona College of Medicine/Banner Health University Medical Center. Ahead of that, he spent a year as an Anesthesiology resident at the University of Texas Health Science Center, and prior to that, was awarded Intern of the Year at the University of Nevada School of Medicine Internal Medicine Residency program.
For two years prior to joining CenterWell, Dr. Saunders was a Primary Care Internist at El Rio Health Center in Tucson. He also spent a year as a Reviewer and Medical Consultant at Kaplan Medical, before that. In 2021, he was certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine.
Dr. Saunders enjoys forming trusting relationships with his patients, achieving patient satisfaction through listening closely and spending time with them. When he is not working, he enjoys hiking, swimming, weightlifting, and traveling.
